How did you find your league of record?

I know many(most) of us play in multiple leagues, but I always see the posts about peoples leagues that fly across the country to draft together or are active year round with massive dynasty rosters. All the leagues I have found on findaleague or rotoworld always flame out after 1-3 years roughly. Due to managers leaving or commissioner abuse etc. And my family/friend leagues are lacking in level of competition. I want the long lasting, active, wonderful league, and I don't know where to find it.

So my question to those of you with wonderful leagues is how did you find your league?
