Rockies sign Wade Davis to 3-year deal

The Colorado Rockies continue to strengthen their bullpen with the addition of former Cubs closer Wade Davis. The deal is reportedly three years and $52 million. That gives Davis the highest average annual value for a reliever ever at $17.33 million. The deal also includes a $15 million vesting option for 2020.

Marlins laying groundwork for Yelich and Realmuto trades

FanRag’s Jon Heyman reports that the Marlins have begun “laying the groundwork” for possible trades involving outfielder Christian Yelich and catcher J.T. Realmuto. While they are listening to offers, the asking price remains extremely high as Joe Frisaro puts it, the Marlins are looking for a “huge overpay.”
